Waterwood Townhouses

The recreation area, which is run by another company, was great, but it couldn’t make up for the state of the townhouse. We left a day early and got no refund because I wouldn’t put my kids through the filth. At night, over a hundred spiders and webs lined the stairs, and my poor three-year-old put her hand on the railing and ended up covered in little spiders. Inside, there were roaches and mold, and it smelled like actual poop. The rooms clearly hadn’t been cleaned, since things from the previous guests were still there. Absolutely horrifying.

The internet was down across the whole resort, and the TVs were maddening. Pressing volume turned the TV off, and once it was on, good luck getting it to turn off. There were ants, spiders, and roaches, and my kids found a baseball cap left in their room, so it had barely been cleaned. The shower curtains had black mold, the stained living room furniture was moldy, and the dishes were stained too. The garbage disposal was actually sparking, and all the balconies were dry-rotted. This place is badly managed. I do not recommend it.

We were planning a family getaway for more than 75 people. All we needed was the name of the person handling our villa reservations and a way to pay the remaining balances. Instead, a front desk woman named “Mary” was disrespectful and hung up 53 times between calls from my daughter and me. At one point she set the phone down and yelled, “I’m not ever supposed to be here now.” I apologized that she was having such a bad day, and she said I didn’t need to be sarcastic, then hung up again. I’ve never dealt with such unprofessional behavior in all my years. When people are spending so much on a vacation home, you’d expect kinder staff to make the transaction easy. She should be removed from the position if the business wants to keep its customers.

The rooms were spacious, though a bit dated, and the place is somewhat off the beaten path from New Bern. My friend was freaked out after seeing two roaches, or water bugs, and I managed to kill one.
