Avanti International Resort

I’m from Florida and came to see my sister at this hotel, but I’d never been here before. It’s family-friendly, fun, and has a fabulous staff. The rooms are roomy and have a big TV, and everyone was really accommodating. I hung out by the pool and had drinks at the bar with Derrick, easily the best bartender here. DJ Reloop was terrific too, with a great playlist and a real knack for matching songs to the crowd. It was upbeat and fun, and had me dancing in my seat and out of it. The bistro has some good bites. Definitely a great day.

We ended up leaving the morning after our first night, even though we’d booked four nights. We appreciate that the unused nights were refunded without us needing to ask, and the front desk staff listened to our concerns and treated us kindly. The two people we dealt with were genuinely professional and understanding, the only bright spot in the stay. The website photos and descriptions were very misleading. We stayed in Building 1, and the walk to the room felt unsafe right away: several ground floor doors were propped open, there was a strong marijuana smell, and the atmosphere was unsettling. Our room was supposedly upgraded, which made us wonder what the original would have been like. There was visible mildew in the shower, a dirty humidifier, stained towels, flies and spiders, a fridge that wasn’t cold, and almost no sound insulation. We could hear everything. The door wouldn’t lock properly, so we barricaded it overnight, and there was about a half-inch gap underneath. The large window was filthy and wouldn’t lock. It could still be pushed open about six inches with a stopper in place, enough room for someone to reach in with an object and unlock the door. After we left, we looked more closely at reviews and saw similar complaints, including break-ins and stolen items. We already felt unsafe before reading them. We skipped the pool and other amenities because we didn’t feel comfortable on the property. Our safety and comfort mattered more than being near the parks. At another hotel, staff told us they’d heard similar stories and had hosted guests who moved from this property. I don’t like writing negative reviews, but I’d hate for other travelers or families to have the same experience. This should be advertised honestly as a cheap motel, not a resort.

I was there with my son in February 2026, before the UK school half term, when things were quiet. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the pool and nearby areas were clean. It’s in a great spot and good value for the money. My only drawback was hearing trucks and coaches pull into the parking area from around 6 a.m. I’m a light sleeper.

We’d happily come back, since the location is handy for all the entertainment. The staff at Avanti International Resort were helpful with every question. One evening my key fob battery died, and they sorted it out straight away. They partner with Universal and run a very efficient shuttle to the parks. The pool, gym, and jacuzzi were well maintained, and there was plenty of food and drink available at the pool bar, though I didn’t eat there.
