City Express by Marriott Orlando International Drive

The included breakfast was limited, but everything they offered was fresh and tasted good. There’s an automated espresso machine in the breakfast area for lattes, hot chocolate, and similar drinks. The rooms have been recently refurbished, I think the hotel used to be a Comfort Suites, and they were very clean. They’re not fancy, which fits a budget-tier Marriott, but they were nicer than some moderate-tier places I’ve stayed. Fantastic budget hotel, highly recommend.

If you don’t stay at Marriott properties often, you may be very happy here. For us, it’s a three-star stay, though I’d have given it five if I weren’t used to Marriott. We go to Fairfield Inn often, and this felt like a step down. We’re not Ritz Carlton people, I could never afford that! The staff were nice, the rooms clean, and there’s no resort fee. Free parking is a big plus, since hardly anyone offers that now. Breakfast is included, but it was a small spread: two kinds of omelets, cereal, yogurt, and English muffins. Compared with other Marriott free breakfasts, I was underwhelmed. If you haven’t had those buffet breakfasts before, you’d probably be grateful for what’s here. The location is good, though the first turn onto Canada looks a little questionable until you drive another 10 seconds and feel more at ease. The hotel recently changed hands and had renovations. Our windows needed recaulking, and on a windy January night the noise and cold air coming in made it hard to sleep. The mattress was the firmest I’ve ever slept on. If you like a hard bed, this could be your place, but if you want a soft one, don’t stay here.

The property is newer and everything looked good. Free parking and breakfast, plus it was a good deal whether paying cash or points. The location worked well for getting to the airport the next day. Service was fine, though I didn’t use any amenities, so I don’t have much else to say.

The room was clean and looked newly remodeled, and the location is great, just off International Drive and close to Universal. My main issue was that the heat in our room didn’t work. I told the person at the front desk, and she just said, “Oh, that’s too bad. Thanks for coming to our hotel.” I expected more of a response.
