DASKK Orlando Hotel near Universal Blvd, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Nice hotel and room, and the complimentary hot breakfast was good. Housekeeping was the one letdown. They came by each day but only took out the trash. Used towels left on the floor weren’t replaced, and they never made the bed.

The pool wasn’t running while I was there, but I didn’t plan to use it, so it didn’t affect my stay. I did miss having a coffee maker in the room. Otherwise, the place was a real gem: clean, spacious rooms with good lighting and good-quality TVs, plus very comfortable beds. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, so check-in was quick. I’d recommend it.

Getting around was easy without a car. The hotel is on Canada ave, just behind I-drive, where Lynx buses and trolleys go around Orlando. It’s less than a five-minute walk to the main area. The staff were lovely, greeting me every morning, and the check-in conversation made me feel at home. Our spacious room was very clean. Housekeeping changed the towels and emptied the trash daily, and changed the sheets every other day. The pool area was clean and comfortable, though the weather meant we only used it once. Breakfast is free, but I ate out because I like changing up my food each day. I’m really pleased with my stay and can’t wait to return.

The pool stayed closed for my whole visit, which was disappointing. Breakfast was included, but the continental selection and quality left a lot to be desired. Parking is charged here, like at many Orlando hotels, and I’m not a fan of that. My VIP status through Orbitz got me free parking, though. The rest was good value for the price. The hotel looked freshly renovated, check-in was quick, and the staff were welcoming. I’d requested a top-floor room, and they were happy to accommodate. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep.
