Extended Stay America Select Suites - Orlando - East

We’ve been here for more than six months and I couldn’t be happier. The rooms are clean and maid service is available. I give the manager credit for the happy community he’s built. The employees are cheerful, arrive early and stay late if needed, and don’t take their frustrations out on guests. I know management can affect how staff behave, and you can see it in their attitude when things aren’t good, but that hasn’t been our experience here. Amazing hotel and staff!

The way we were treated left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, and we felt it may have been because we are Asian. The room conditions and service added a lot of distress. If this isn’t addressed promptly, I’ll file complaints with the Orange County Health Department and consumer protection agencies. On our first morning, we woke to cockroaches all over the room. We reported it right away but weren’t moved until the next day. Later, at about 1 PM, we asked for clean towels. When we returned at 10 PM, a front desk employee named Cam refused service, saying towels were available only between 4-8 PM. Her manner was rude and dismissive.

We came for a funeral and chose this place because it was convenient to where we needed to be. I wish we hadn’t. Since we checked in late, it was too late to switch rooms by the time we realized how dirty it was. We went to Walmart for cleaning spray and paper towels, and I cleaned the floor myself. The towel came away black. The sink had hair, the fridge hadn’t been cleaned and needed disinfecting, and the towels weren’t clean either. I told the front desk we had to buy supplies because the room hadn’t been cleaned. On the second night, we killed two cockroaches. We don’t recommend it and won’t be back.

Sonia has been the best housekeeper during the three years I’ve stayed at Extended Stay. She’s gentle, keeps things clean, and does a perfect job. The whole staff, under Javier Salomon’s management, has shown me compassion and care for my situation, and I can’t find the words for it. I speak from the heart about being treated with respect here. I’ve been a regular customer since 2022, when Hurricane Ian left me with nothing, and I’ve been displaced ever since. Extended Stay at Goldenrod Orlando has been my home for all these years. I have only good things to say about them. 💯
