La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Orlando Universal area

The breakfast setup was the one drawback for us: it got crowded, there weren't many seats or menu choices, and the waffle makers left the waffles undercooked. Still, the staff were warm and check-in was easy. Our room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with excellent sound isolation. We stayed here after flying from France to Orlando (MCO). The location worked well for Universal parks or for continuing north on Florida’s Turnpike, and I’d recommend it.

We planned on three nights and ended up adding three more. We weren't there for sightseeing, and the location suited us perfectly. Breakfast was excellent. The woman looking after it took her job seriously, even cleaning around us while we were still eating.

The room itself was a problem: it smelled strongly of mold and cleaning chemicals, which set off respiratory allergies, especially for my child. There were stains on the carpet, dust in the corners, and loose outlets that felt unsafe. I booked because the hotel advertised a free shuttle to Universal, but at check-in nobody told us it only ran at 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM. We had to pay for parking at the last minute, which added unexpected costs. The location is good, but I wouldn't stay again or recommend it. The hotel needs better upkeep and clearer shuttle information.

Breakfast was very good, with choices even for our picky eaters, and the rooms were impressively clean. The rooms have been renovated, although the outside still looks dated. Staff were kind and friendly, and the hotel was comfortable and a short distance from Universal theme parks. I'd stay again.
