Marriott Orlando Downtown

This was the best stay we’ve ever had in all our travels. The hotel was clean, the rooms were great, and every staff member was friendly. They made our long stay enjoyable. Thanks, staff!

The location worked perfectly for the events we went to at the Kia Center and Camping World. Our room was nice, and the housekeeper was consistently sweet. Parking was a mess, though. The lot connected to the hotel apparently isn't theirs, so you have to pay for valet or pay to use it. At check-in, the desk agent was pleasant, but I had a prepaid Expedia booking and the hotel charged my card again. She didn't mention the deposit or the full amount she was putting through, and the card terminal shows a blank screen before and after you swipe. I only caught it when I got back to the room and saw the bank alert. I called right away, and she said there was no prepaid booking on file and assumed I'd booked directly without paying. Expedia may have been responsible for the mix-up, but being told the charge amount, or that it covered the whole stay rather than just the deposit, would have let me catch it before a second payment went through and I had to wait for Expedia to refund me. That could have left me in a tough spot financially for the rest of the trip. Management should fix the card reader display or have staff say the amount aloud. I shouldn't have to check my bank statement to learn what my room or even a juice costs.

The room had no hot water on the evening of January 2. I called the front desk three times for help, and nobody came. The next morning the M Club coffee machine was still out of order, as it had been throughout our two-night stay. Breakfast there was mediocre too. We checked into the Orlando Marriott on January 1, 2026. The receptionist was pleasant and professional, but most of what followed was a problem. At the restaurant that afternoon, we waited 45 minutes for nachos and a quesadilla without an update. I had to ask about them. Ten minutes later the plates came out cold and unappealing, so the waitress took them back. After another 15 minutes she returned with the same food, just a little warmer. We asked for freshly made meals and a manager. He said a new order had been placed, and about 20 minutes later it arrived at least edible. The waitress only came by once more to leave the $40 bill. No refills, no follow-up. I tried to speak to the hotel manager after lunch, but was told he was unavailable because of the holiday. I asked for a call the next day and never got one. I still had no follow-up by January 18, 2026. At checkout on January 3, I raised all the issues with the desk manager. He seemed unsurprised and said staffing problems were common. He offered 15,000 Bonvoy points, which I appreciate, but it didn't feel like enough for the number and seriousness of the problems. I never got a post-stay survey, so I contacted Marriott Bonvoy myself to complain. Their representative was courteous and recorded everything, but the hotel or management still hasn't called or followed up. With repeated service failures and no accountability or follow-through, this was well below Marriott standards. I'd strongly caution others considering this property.

We only popped in for a drink, but the lobby was clean and welcoming and the staff were nice. The front desk person checked that we knew about the hotel's menu, then suggested a good local place to eat. Great location. I hope to stay here next time I'm in town.
