The Cove Motel

For our first trip to the Cape, Cove Motel was a great introduction. The grounds were beautiful even in the off-season, and the waterfront area and view were lovely. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were so friendly. They texted several times during our stay to ask if we needed anything, which felt very hospitable. We’d happily come back, especially if we could get a waterfront room again. It feels like a hidden gem. One small thing to know: unless we missed something, our TV didn’t have streaming, so bring a Chromecast if you want more than cable. We were only in the room a couple of hours a day, so it wasn’t a problem for us. Double Dragon Inn is just a short walk next door. The Chinese food was amazing, the service even better, and it was great to be able to walk over for dinner.

The cove is lovely, with birds singing, beautiful perennial gardens, and sunrises and sunsets over the water. The staff are friendly, and the rooms are clean. Kayaking is close by, the bike path is only minutes away, and Ptown fishing charters are a half-hour drive. Looking forward to staying again.

This place used to be a gem, but it’s changed a lot. You have to remember to request room service the day before. My colleague and I were there for a conference and didn’t realize, so the garbage piled up. The rooms are okay, nothing special. There’s only one parking space per room, which is a problem if you’re going to a conference in separate cars, for example. We learned our lesson and will book a hotel next year.

We only needed one night for an event near Chatham, which wasn’t easy to find on a summer weekend. The view was gorgeous, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our stay exceeded expectations. We’re sharing our photos of The Cove Motel with all our friends and will definitely be back.
