The Governor Prence Inn

Room 28 was large and clean, though a bit dated, and I liked that it had no carpet. Keep the A/C running or it gets stuffy and a little musty. The outdoor pool looked huge, but I didn’t try it. The employees were friendly, especially the girls running breakfast. Breakfast was included and plentiful, with breads, muffins, bagels, English muffins, fruit, yogurt, and three cereals. The pancakes and waffles were soggy, but improved after a go in the toaster. I was happy with a toasted English muffin, butter and jam, and hot tea. Friends in another room weren’t as happy with theirs, it was smaller, carpeted, and mustier. These are typical motel-style accommodations, nothing fancy.

The grounds are lovely, and we used the barbecue grills, which was a nice change from other motels. The staff were helpful and really nice. Governor prence is close to everything, and the bike trail is within walking distance. For the price, it’s a nice place. Our spacious room was clean, with windows on two sides and another in the bathroom, which you don’t often get in a hotel. The rooms could use updates, though their nostalgic feel adds charm. There was no bathroom fan and not enough plugs.

Nothing fancy, just a cabin feel on a pretty, well-kept property. The room looked and smelled clean, though it could use some updating. Best part, it’s dog friendly! My dog loved it 😊

The rooms sit back from the road among trees and lawns, so it was very quiet. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the mattresses had good support, which matters to us senior citizens. The wall-unit AC worked well, and I prefer it to noisy baseboard units that are hard to adjust. The hosts and manager were lovely, and the young international college students on staff were attentive. It felt family friendly, especially for families with children. Breakfast was an extensive continental spread, with outdoor seating by the pool or an air-conditioned cafe area. There’s free WiFi and plenty of TV options, though the Cape has so much to do that you don’t really need an entertainment center. Very good place at reasonable rates, not fancy, just fine.
