The bathrooms were tiny and the maid service was lacking, though the beds were comfy, the bagels fresh, and the location pretty good for downtown. Maybe things will improve once the new owners finish the transition. I'd stay here again if I needed a cheap place downtown.

The rooms had a musty, stinky smell when we arrived, maybe because we got an older, unrenovated room near the pool. The location and price were both great, but there wasn't a microwave anywhere, including the breakfast area, and breakfast itself was about as minimal as it gets. The front desk staff were flat, not very courteous. I won't stay there again.

The internet barely worked, which seriously got in the way of the work I expected to do. The hotel could use some sprucing up, though the room was clean and insulated well enough that I couldn't hear the neighbors. The Conference Center and Family History Library are a 10 minute walk away, so people should know that, though I didn't mind the distance. Breakfast was sufficient, with bagels or toast, oatmeal, pastries, and cereal. The staff were pleasant, and the shuttle back to the airport was perfect.

I paid for a clean place to sleep and nice people, and that's what I got. The bed, bathroom, and room were clean, and there was a coffee machine, hair dryer, and free wi-fi. It wasn't fancy or new, but it had pretty much everything I needed. The front desk and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. There was some noise once late at night, but I was packing anyway. I had a sound maker on my phone as a backup, though I didn't need it. And the free breakfast was definitely a perk! If you want something newer and fancier, nearby hotels cost more than double. You get what you pay for.

We've stayed here for years during conferences, but this will probably be our last time. The room was clean, but the hotel has declined over the past few years, especially this year. We didn't feel safe or secure, and some lobby staff gave us the creeps. Staff weren't friendly or helpful, and seemed to make a point of not helping us or others we saw. We'd ask basic things, like where to eat, how public transit works, or what there is to see, and usually got “I don't know.” We often came in late and got the stink eye for bothering whoever was on duty. Watch out for the rate. They quoted one price and charged another at checkout. The amount was as much as nice hotels in Salt Lake City, which we wouldn't have paid if we'd known. Breakfast was really sad, the sort of food you'd eat only if very hungry. Even the coffee was bad. The airport shuttle was booked, but at checkout they said the driver couldn't take us because he was on lunch break. We couldn't get out fast enough. The only worse hotel I've stayed at was the Motel 6 down the road, though at least there we got what we paid for. This place should become a parking lot. Stay at the Plaza or Hilton for just a little more.
