Best Western Plus Airport Inn & Suites

The shuttle and its driver were excellent, and the room was clean. Staff were friendly too, though the night clerk spoke so softly I couldn't hear her when I asked for a ride from the airport. My sink was clogged, which was obvious if you waited the required five minutes for hot water to reach the faucet. I arrived late and had already unpacked, so I didn't want to move rooms, but brushing my teeth in the bathtub was annoying. I suspect housekeeping has told maintenance about it many times. Breakfast was adequate, the usual eggs, potatoes, links, fruit, bread, cereal and so on. The chairs in the breakfast area should have been replaced years ago. There was also a Wi-Fi hub mounted at eye level by the bed, with bright flashing lights that kept me up. A little black tape over them seems like an easy fix. Would I stay again? Maybe, but there are lots of similar hotels around here with prices that keep changing, so I'd probably try another.

Even arriving late at night, I got checked in quickly, and the staff were friendly. My room at the Best Western Plus near Salt Lake City Airport was comfortable, quiet, clean, and had everything I needed. The shuttle ran on time and made getting to the airport easy. Breakfast was free and much better than I'd expect at most places in this price range. Great value and service. I'd happily stay again.

I expected a better stay at best western. The pool was dirty and the water tasted gross. Even after they replaced the TV remote, it still didn't work properly. The French toast tasted strange, and the slimy canned cheese in the eggs was gross.

The younger woman who checked me in that night was wonderful, friendly and warm. I had booked late after my flight was canceled, and she made that part of the stay easy. The next morning, I was in the lobby waiting for my Uber and checking email when an older white-haired woman with a butterfly clip, whose name I didn't catch, was gossiping with staff behind the desk. I didn't mind until I heard her refer to me several times as “that woman.” I had only just walked in and had no idea what she meant. She hadn't acknowledged me, then finally asked in a loud, rude tone, “What room were you in?” I told her, and she rolled her eyes, seemed annoyed, and asked, “Well are you checking out?” I understand some hotels want guests to check out in person so staff can start cleaning. But four or five other people had joined me in the lobby waiting for Ubers, and she didn't question them. I don't know why she had a problem with me. I'd never seen her before, I was there only one night, and she wasn't the person who checked me in. Her entitled, rude manner was deeply disappointing. Other reviews mention an “older white haired woman,” so this seems to happen regularly. I hope management talks with her about her attitude and recognizes the young woman who worked that night for being so welcoming.
