Hotel Ursa

The room was a great deal for the cost, and I’d stay here again because it was close to where I needed to be. It was quiet on Monday and Tuesday night, which didn’t surprise me. Check-in was easy, though the guy at the desk seemed a bit checked out and didn’t tell me about the hotel, gym, or cafe. I liked the room and its amenities, but there were no cups for the in-room coffee maker, so I waited for Major Minor coffee bar to open at 7. The throw from the end of the bed had been left crumpled behind the reading chair. The room had no information about food delivery or local restaurants. The bathroom was clean and everything looked fresh and new. There’s a nice little lounge beside the coffee bar that would be a good place to sit and chat with guests. I didn’t use the gym, but it looked clean and inviting, and has a water dispenser for refilling bottles with filtered water. Checkout was excellent, the young woman at the desk was pleasant and helpful. Just a note, they put a hold on your card at check-in that could be more than the stay, but it does drop off.

I’m an out-of-state mom with a sick student on campus, and I needed some privacy. Randall answered the phone and was wonderful, even through my many calls. He was kind, helpful, and accommodating, and made me feel less anxious. My work involves a very high level of customer and patient service, and it’s clear Randall brings those same qualities to his job. Thank you, he went above and beyond!

The room was immaculate, the beds felt comfortable, and the staff were courteous and professional throughout our stay. Since the hotel is on the University of Maine campus, it was easy for us to walk around and look at the college. I’d highly recommend staying here.

Rooms were really clean, and everyone was friendly. If you’re visiting the University of Maine, the location is hard to beat. I do wish the cafe stayed open past 10am. There are lots of places to get food on campus, at least during the semester.
