The staff were great about making sure I got a room that worked for our needs. Communication was good, and they stayed on top of anything we needed. If I'm ever back in osseo Wisconsin, I'll definitely stay here again.

The staff were friendly and took care of things, and the room was clean, comfortable, and up to date. It seems the new owners have put money into fixing the building. With no pool to maintain, the price was affordable. I look forward to coming back.

We stayed in a remodeled room at the Smartwood Inn on 8/30/25. It was clean, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Remodeling was underway, but we didn't hear noise and it wasn't a problem. The gentleman who checked us in was courteous and helpful, and everyone we met was super nice. The price was great too. We'd stay there again if we're in the area.

I arrived at 2am and left at 8am, so I didn't see any staff during my stay. Check-in after hours was virtual. An interesting place.

The whole place smelled like paint, and there was plastic over the windows with no warning about the construction. I was concerned that using the AC or heater with the window units wrapped could risk carbon monoxide poisoning. Check-in took more than 25 minutes while the woman on the phone discussed the price with her boss. She said Expedia didn't show taxes, though it clearly did, and had me email proof of the price. The bathtub drained so slowly I stood in water, and the outdated fire alarm went off for no reason in the morning and woke us. They wanted us to download an app to enter the room, but we declined and got a key.
