Park Hyatt New York

That bathtub in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows was my favorite part. The pool, steam room, and hot tub were great too, and we felt thoroughly spoiled by the restaurant and bar service. Even the standard room felt spacious and luxurious. This was our first Park Hyatt, and it's the best hotel stay we've had so far. It was a special occasion and a real treat. I'm not sure we'll get to do it again, so if you have the chance while you're in NYC, you should go for it. One thing I'd change: the plastic milk-carton-style water bottles seemed out of place, and they made the water taste like plastic.

The room was excellent, with lots of space, heated bathroom floors, and a great deep soaking tub. The indoor pool and sauna were also nice to have during winter in NYC. But the service was a letdown. Most staff came across as rude or unfriendly. Only the woman who checked me in and the man who checked me out smiled at me during my two-night stay. I checked in at noon just to leave our bags before heading back out. When we returned at 3, there was no welcome note or fruit bowl, even though we're Hyatt Globalist members. Park Hyatt in Paris gave me wine and chocolates, for comparison. At breakfast, there weren't many menu choices for Globalists. When I asked the server what was included, he looked disdainful and answered with a sneer. I left an honest review after the stay, and the manager apologized with 20,000 Hyatt points. Looking back, though, using 70,000 points for two nights and getting that service wasn't worth it. This was my eighth Park Hyatt, and by far the worst.

We were impressed by the room's design and quality, especially the incredible shower and the big, relaxing tub with Le Labo amenities. We wished we could take the Bergamote 22 home. There was even a TV in the bathroom, which was a nice touch for watching while bathing. The gym was well equipped and kept in great shape. Breakfast was delicious and high quality, though the portions ran a little small, and the service there was great. We were celebrating our anniversary at Park Hyatt NYC, and after a rough start with a room that had a loud humming noise, the issue was sorted out pretty quickly. My girlfriend and I also received a thoughtful surprise: a handwritten card, wine, handmade chocolate strawberries, Evian water, and a generous fruit basket. Those personal touches really stood out. As someone who loves luxury hotels, I was surprised by the service and room quality. I'd rate the stay 10/10.

We spent the weekend at Park Hyatt New York for my wife's birthday, and the hotel team arranged some lovely surprises that made the day extra special. The attentive service carried on throughout our stay. The hotel is beautiful and well located. Highly recommended.
