Southern Soho Boutique Hotel

Our hippie themed room was adorable and clean, with so much thought put into the details by the owners. It was a fun, unusual stay, reasonably priced, and in a great location. We felt safe even with the outside entrance to the room, since the parking lot had plenty of lighting. Give it a try and enjoy yourself. Until next time!

After a long day of driving, we were given an upstairs room and carried our bags up, only to open the door and find a man lying in the bed. We apologized and took our luggage back downstairs. When we told the young man at the desk, he laughed and said, “Sorry.” We were exhausted by then and asked for a first floor room. He said one was available, but it would cost another $6. Giving us a key to an occupied room was embarrassing and could have been dangerous, and laughing it off before trying to charge us extra was unacceptable. It seems like a really nice place, which makes the poor service even more of a shame.

We spotted this place from the highway while driving from Virginia to Louisiana and decided to stop for the night. It turned out to be a themed hotel, and my husband surprised me with the pink room. What a treat! The guy who checked us in was awesome, the room was spotless and so cute, and the price was great. The shower was the best we’ve had at a hotel, with really hot water and good pressure, unlike many expensive hotels we’ve stayed at. We’ll definitely make this a stop on future trips.

We had several themed rooms to choose from and picked the steam punk room, which was charming and fun for our short trip. The staff were extremely kind and let us check in early for free since the room was unoccupied. They also let our two large dogs stay for free. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and we’ll return whenever we’re in town.
