Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove Monterey by IHG

We ate breakfast and dinner at Caledonian Restaurant, and both the meals and service were excellent. Even though the hotel had just opened, everything went smoothly, and the staff were warm and friendly. My wife and I drove up to Pacific Grove for a short holiday and stayed at the brand new Kimpton Mirador. Its Spanish Revival design feels charming and elegant. The ocean is only three short blocks away, with breathtaking Pacific views. Congratulations, we can't wait to return! R & E

We loved the food at The Caledonian, especially the avocado toast at breakfast and cavatelli at dinner. It's American and seafood cooking in a comfortable setting. The hotel has a bright, thoughtful design, with lots of natural light, and the clean, charming rooms feel easy to settle into. The staff are lovely and friendly. Pacific Grove is a small coastal town with natural beauty, relaxed charm, and a strong community feel, and the hotel is well placed to enjoy it. One caveat for us: Kimptons welcome dogs for free, and we always bring ours because we love Kimptons, but Pacific Grove itself hasn't felt very dog friendly to us. Compared with other places in California, the town seems unwelcoming to people with dogs, and I'm not sure why.

The Pacific coast views are amazing, and we'll plan another visit. My husband and I chose the new Kimpton Mirador for our trip to Pacific Grove. As an interior designer, I really liked the clean Spanish Revival architecture, and the rooms were well planned with the amenities you'd expect from an upscale boutique property. Everyone was cordial and professional, from the valet and front desk to housekeeping, waiters, and kitchen staff. The meals were great, with some interesting takes on classic dishes. The local shops nearby are worth exploring, and you can reach plenty of them on foot from the hotel. We also thought Caledonian, the on-site restaurant, was outstanding. Each day there's a social hour with complimentary wine and small bites, a nice addition to the stay. The team was helpful and attentive from arrival through checkout, which made the visit feel easy and relaxing. Our room was elegant but practical, with care put into the details. A really comfortable, refined space.
