For a little coastal getaway, I often pick Pacific drift. You can walk to the pier, and it's near the freeway. The rooms, formerly America's best value, are basic but clean and fine for what you need. Prices tend to be a little higher than Rockaway inn. The main drawback is noise from footsteps upstairs if you're on the ground floor. Otherwise, the rooms are great.

We were here for my daughter's sports competition, and the clean, cozy room gave us a comfortable place to recover after long training days. We rested well, and my daughter felt energized and went on to win her competition. We really appreciated the hospitality and would happily stay again. Highly recommended!

The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, and I'd be fine staying here again. It's an easy walk to the pier and parking is free. The lobby is tiny, with no place to sit and no coffee or breakfast. Dogs aren't allowed.

We ended up here because the hot water heater at our AirBnB broke. The shower and tub in the first room wouldn't drain, which made me feel sick. When I called for a plunger, the guy told me to come get it. It didn't help, so we switched rooms. For $100, I guess what can you expect?

The staff were so kind and helpful, and our room was spacious, nicely furnished, and clean, with a beautiful ocean view and everything we'd want or need. It was quiet both day and night. There's so much to love about this nearly perfect hotel.
