Inn at Rockaway San Francisco Pacifica

The views are lovely, the location is really convenient, and the staff were amazing. Alex was working the desk earlier on 01/22, and I wish I'd asked the other staff member's name too. Their kindness and knowledge made us feel welcome. They deserve a raise! :) I'll definitely be back.

Our room, a Deluxe Queen Room with Sofa bed, was roomy enough for our group of five adults and had an ocean view. It was room 306. The sofa bed is listed as a twin, but seemed closer to a short full size, so two small people or children could fit comfortably. We had a TV with lots of channels on a swivel mount, plus a microwave, mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, iron and ironing board. There was also heating and AC, though we didn't need them. Check-in took under 10 minutes: they confirmed the reservation, checked my ID, put a card on file, and gave me keys and free parking passes. We were next to the elevator, but the noise was minimal. A light sleeper might notice it. The room was generally clean and stocked, though there were crumbs in the sofa bed bedding. It was late and I was tired, so I shook it out and made do. The sofa bed itself was noisy, but sleeping across it sideways made it less bothersome to my roommates. The shower pressure was good, but it took a while to find a comfortable temperature. The bathroom faucet sits too far back, so water splashes onto the counter. A worn or torn patch in the vinyl by the window exposed the subfloor. For a room that can hold several guests, it could use another clothes rack, and the hotel could use a second luggage cart since the single one meant a wait. The windows have no screens, which wasn't a problem for us, but I'd be wary of opening them with children around. Those room issues cost it a star, and the crumbs cost another.

The location worked perfectly, close to both the City and HMB. Our room was very clean and suited our family of four well. We were greeted at check-in by really friendly front desk staff. Had a wonderful experience here yesterday, highly recommend it.

The building looked dirty and dingy outside, and the whole place just wasn't for us. I called again and again to confirm before leaving, but no one answered. There was an answering machine, but it wouldn't take a message. At check-in they asked if I'd be keeping my vehicle overnight, then told me parking in the hotel lot cost $15. The ocean view was okay, but the run-down Nicks building in front of the ocean spoiled it. Our windows were damaged and very dirty, so it was hard to enjoy the view. There are no window screens. That's fine for adults, but with little kids, be careful, as a child could climb onto the AC unit and fall. The beds were clearly doubles, not the queens I'd paid for, and they were very hard and uncomfortable. The room itself was average. Other guests checking in were also having reservation problems left and right.
