Lake Powell Resort

Kaelin at the boat tour counter was professional and really helpful, and Meagan at reception was courteous and listened to our room preferences. We’d definitely like to return. The views of Lake Powell are spectacular, and the hot tub was great. The scenic dam boat tour had lovely views, though it was pricey. The pizza shop was convenient, but quite expensive too.

The location is fantastic, with an incredible view, and the pool was nice and clean. Getting to our room took three tries, though. First we were sent to a room where pest control seemed to be in progress, and the chemical smell was overpowering. The next room was still being cleaned, so the housekeeper sent us back to reception before we finally got our room. The bathrooms need renovating. The air conditioner had a bad smell, like it hadn’t been cleaned since it was new. Since it was late May, we had to air out the room to cool it down.

The grounds were well kept, the amenities were great, and having a patio off the room was a big plus. Everyone we dealt with, from the restaurant hostess and front desk to the pizza place, was all smiles and very friendly. I’d stay again. We were there for two nights and were mostly satisfied. The mattress was comfortable, but the sheets were crisp and scratchy. The furniture was old and cheap, though it did the job. The coffee maker and a light fixture didn’t work, but that wasn’t a big deal.

The staff made our two nights especially lovely. Everyone we met at the restaurants, bars, and front desk was warm and welcoming. The mornings and evenings each had their own peaceful beauty. Lake Powell has a quiet magic to it, with red rocks, blue water, desert light, and open skies. The views are unforgettable, and we think we’ll come back someday.
