SpringHill Suites by Marriott Palm Desert

I drove two hours from Los Angeles on Dec 29th after booking a room, only to be told at the front desk that CANDI HERNANDEZ, the General Manager, had cancelled my reservation. They gave no reason, and I got no notice before making the drive. I began filing a formal complaint with Marriott. I'm a Titanium Elite Member in the Bonvoy program and have had deep ties to Marriott for 30 years, including business with their Executive Board over the decades. I'd highly recommend staying away from this hotel. I've stayed here before, usually as a last-minute booking because I prefer other Marriott options. On a previous visit, the Front Desk gave my name and phone number to another guest, which was a horrible experience too.

We wanted a hotel rather than resort landscaping, and this place suited us well. It's very nice and sits in a great Coachella Valley location for golf or a pleasure trip, with attractions and amenities within 30 minutes.

On two earlier trips, we stayed here and liked the comfortable, clean suites, helpful service, and very good breakfast, with plenty of food options and seating. My kids especially liked the large, shallow pool, and the location works well for shopping and dining. But in November 2025, I arrived after paying Booking.com and was told there was no reservation, despite having a confirmation number. I was distraught. Customer Service stonewalled me and did nothing after nearly an hour on the phone, so I had to buy a room on the spot and pay again. Never pay for your hotel through Booking.com!

We stayed over Coachella weekend and were told maid service would come every other day. We arrived Thursday, but no one came Saturday, so we had to take our used towels down to get fresh ones. On Sunday morning they said we weren't on the schedule, then said they'd add us. Still, housekeeping never arrived that day either. Be prepared to go the whole stay without your room being refreshed.
