The Marley by AvantStay

The shower was awful, with about ten seconds of very hot water followed by very cold water. It was dirty and moldy, too. The coffee machine didn’t work, and the air made me extremely sick because I’m very allergic. I looked at the filter, and it seemed like it hadn’t been changed in years. It makes me wonder how often the rooms really get any TLC. The place looks super nice in photos, but in person it wasn’t as nice and was really dirty. The contactless setup wasn’t disclosed until after we booked. It feels like nice decorations are hiding the problems. Don’t stay here if you mind these things.

I was shocked to learn on the morning of our flight, while reading the check-in email’s “things to know” section, that this is an adults-only hotel. I was traveling with my daughter and suddenly had no hotel for when we landed. I’d booked through Google after seeing the photos and reviews and finding the dates available, so I hadn’t expected this. I went back to the website and searched carefully. Apparently, children are allowed if you buy out the entire hotel. Management should make the adults-only rule much clearer. Hiding it in the “home truths” section behind a “more” tab isn’t helpful. Customer service was unsurprisingly lacking in empathy and kindness. With me about to board a plane and needing somewhere to stay, I expected more. If this is how they treat you before you arrive, I can only imagine how it would go if you needed help during a stay.

We had a fantastic weekend at the Marley for my friend’s birthday, and the whole time we felt really well looked after. The place has a cool aesthetic, with lovely rooms and comfortable beds. The pool and hot tub were great, and the kitchen was amazing. It’s a memorable place that gets the balance of comfort and independence just right. Thanks so much to the Marley for everything!

The Marley was the perfect spot for my 50th birthday celebration with friends. We threw a “Caftans and Cocktails” party, and the living and dining area gave us a great place to relax and spend time together. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the pool was sparkling clean. The kitchen had everything a caterer could need, or we could have made our own meals. It’s truly a great place for a getaway with friends.
