Knights Inn - Palmdale CA

The room was very clean, the price was great, and the staff were friendly. Check-in was quick even with three families arriving at once. The woman at the desk made sure we all felt welcome instead of frustrated about being last. When I checked out, I gave the woman inspecting the room a bouquet of roses because I was heading back home. She really appreciated them.

The lobby and outside don't look like much, but the rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything in the room was nice and clean. It's one of the nicer places I've stayed. The staff are friendly, the toilet paper is soft, and there's continental breakfast and a swimming pool. No jacuzzi, though. The pool has handicap access and a crane to lower you in if needed. The ice machine is broken right now and seems to be under repair. It's very quiet, with lovely lush greenery and palm trees, surprising for a spot out in the desert. They seem to have put more money into the rooms than the lobby. I'll definitely be coming back, and I'd recommend checking it out.

For a five-day stay, I got a great rate online, and breakfast is included. The room is clean and has a fridge and microwave. I've paid more elsewhere for less comfort. The parking lot is clean too, and the gentleman who checked me in was super nice, attentive, and knowledgeable. I didn't get his name, but hope to see him at checkout to round out the experience. Just a heads-up, there's a $60 deposit. If you pay cash, you get it back in cash right away as long as there's no damage. If you use a card, it takes 5-7 business days. Hope this helps someone needing a quick place like I did.

The night receptionist was nice, and the breakfast coffee was decent. The morning staff weren't very friendly, though. They don't tell you about the $60 security deposit before check-in. The hotel says it's non-smoking, but that isn't true. The walls and ceilings were dirty, the bedding was questionable, and parts of the locks were missing. Worst of all was a strong smell, either from smoking in the room before or chemicals used to cover the smoke odor. There were bed bugs too. Stay away if you can afford to.
