Courtyard Panama City

The front desk workers were always great while I was here on military orders. After a while, though, I realized some things had gone missing from my room. I knew I hadn’t misplaced them, especially when it happened a second time. I told the general manager and other staff, and was told I’d get a refund. I followed up by phone when I heard nothing, but I still never received it. Keep valuables hidden.

We’d prepaid and checked in through the app, but when we arrived there was no room for us. It seems the hotel had overbooked. The front desk worker wouldn’t give me her name, said she was “just the bartender,” and told us nobody else could help. When I asked how this had happened, she was rude and told us to leave. We found a Candlewood Suites farther away that was spotless and had a very friendly desk staff. I won’t stay at a Marriott again.

The pool was freezing and the Hot Tub Spas was out of order, but the bigger problem was the billing. I booked two nights, March 27 and 28 2026, four days in advance through USAA Perks and paid $279.37. Then Marriott Courtyard charged my Chase Visa another $348.26 for the same stay. The $40 incidental charge also stayed on my card. Marriott’s AI call center said it could take a week to drop off. I planned to contact Chase Visa about a fraud alert and ask USAA to remove me as a perk Client. Don’t waste time calling the hotel, I got no answers beyond being told to wait a few days and that the manager would be in the next morning. At 10 am on Tuesday, three days after checkout, I spoke with the manager, who said he’d remove the $40. By 6 pm it had become a permanent charge on my card, so I now have to dispute that too. Marriott courtyard Panama City are liers and will bill your credit card days after you depart. They have no business serving our military if this is how they treat people. Absolutely the worst Hotel EVER. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The rooms are updated and super clean, and there’s a nice bar restaurant onsite. For a hotel, this one is really nice. I’d stay again when work brings me back to town.
