Days Inn by Wyndham Panama City

We booked three nights but left after one, since we had no other option for that first night. There were wet, dirty towels on the floor, a roach in the bathroom, and a musty smell in the room. We woke with headaches and nasal problems, and I believe there was mold. We stayed until morning to speak with a manager, but Mr Patel refused to fix the situation. He said the best he could do was charge us for two nights and refund one. We left promptly. I forgot my wallet, so my son returned for it and checked the room for anything else we’d left. The drawer was full of other people’s clothes. This was the worst motel experience of my life, not a hotel by any stretch. We’re going to the health department. After Wyndham gave me five different numbers to call, they said I’d hear back within a week. Disgusting and unacceptable.

Housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful, but the room was a nightmare and nothing like the recent renovation I was told about when booking. The carpet corners looked like something was growing there, possibly from water damage or a long time without proper cleaning. I’ll attach pictures. The beds seemed clean enough for us to finish our short stay, and I bought cleaner for the bathtub so the kids could bathe, but the room wasn’t as advertised.

We were in town for a funeral and had prepaid, so we didn’t have the strength to move hotels or risk losing the money. The room felt filthy. The carpet smelled wet and moldy, the couch was disgusting, and although the bed was somewhat comfortable, I’m afraid of what a black light might show. The shower head couldn’t be moved and sprayed water outside the shower, getting everything wet. The location was so-so, and we thought we were booking another Days Inn closer to PC. I’ll never stay here again or recommend it.

The hot shower is the only reason I’m giving one star. Samantha at the front desk was the rudest, most unprofessional hotel employee I’ve dealt with. I won’t go into the details because explaining it would bring back the anxiety and frustration. The room wasn’t clean, the halls reeked of cigarettes, and the linens smelled like jail. Breakfast wasn’t any better: the waffles tasted like air, and the coffee made me need the bathroom immediately, even though I drink coffee every day. Just gross. Never again.
