Color Country Motel

My company put me up at this inexpensive motel for a month. It’s not the nicest, but it’s worth the price. I never saw any bugs, and Family Dollar is right across the street. I’d have no problem staying here again.

The owner was welcoming and friendly, and there are shops and local dining options a short walk away. For about $60 a night, the clean, safe, comfortable room was good value. It also had a fridge and microwave, with an ice machine on the property. I’d stay again.

It was basically a bed, a locking door, and running water. The room was clean but in rough shape, and the mattress needed replacing a decade or two ago. The sheets were clean and not worn out, the HVAC worked well, and the door seemed secure. The curtains let in all the light, though. In the words of Forest Gump, that’s about all I can say about that.

The supermarket across the street, plus another just a 2-minute drive away, made the location handy for visiting Bryce Canyon. This was my third time booking here, after canceling the first two reservations because my plans changed. When I finally stayed, it went well beyond what I expected. I run a hotel in Los Angeles, so I think I can judge this fairly. It’s an old-style motel, but the room’s facilities and cleanliness impressed me, and the bedding was especially comfortable. The older AC unit was quieter than I expected, though I didn’t need it because of the elevation and cool nights. The room stayed comfortable. Wi-Fi, bathroom amenities, and water pressure were all excellent, and I appreciated the microwave, mini-fridge, and other thoughtful touches. Highly recommended.
