Hotel Galaxy

The room was incredibly dirty, with hair in the bathroom, on the sink, and on the pillows, plus mold on the shower curtain. There was a huge gap along the bottom and side of the door. The TV didn't work, and the shower blasted water at you like a firetruck hose, with no filter. For a two-night stay, we paid $735 CAD, around $500 USD, which felt wildly overpriced. At least the service was friendly, from the front desk to the housekeepers, and parking was free. I wasn't expecting much for the price of this motel, but still came away disappointed.

The service was good and the staff were nice, which is why I gave it two stars. But the towels were barely clean and so rough they felt like sandpaper. Lesson learned, I'll bring my own towels next time. The price shot way up during March Madness, even though the rooms had been cheap before, and what we paid wasn't worth it.

The sheets had a crusty white stain that looked suspicious, and the floor seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Cigarette burns covered the furniture. We checked out that same day, lost part of our payment, and slept in the car because the place was that bad. I’d never recommend it.

The one decent thing was the view of Alegent Stadium. The rest was even worse on our second stay: no dresser, a toilet with a seat that didn't fit, crooked pictures and a tiny TV. The bedspread was covered in cigarette burns. We stayed twice in a row and then came back a few days later. The first visit was just OK, but the hotel is old, smells unpleasant, and has ugly bedding with burn holes, crumbling furniture and cheap little towels. Nothing seemed up to date, and the online pictures are ridiculously misleading. You get what you pay for, I guess. We won't be back.
