Our weeklong booking at MainStay Suites on Flamingo turned into several months while my family was dealing with a hard situation. It became a calm place for us, with reasonable rates, free parking, no resort fee, and free WiFi. We liked having restaurants and a Walmart nearby, and Blueberry Hill is right across the street. It’s family owned and absolutely delicious. The Strip is only about 5-8 minutes away. Even the walk to our room could be long, but it was nothing compared with the distances in a casino hotel, and we didn’t have to pay $20 or more a night for Strip parking or resort fees for things we wouldn’t use. The rooms worked well for a longer stay. Ours had two double beds and plenty of space, with a separate living area so someone could relax while another person rested. There were dishes, cookware, silverware, a full-size fridge, stovetop, microwave, and dishwasher. The pool and rooms were clean, and I never saw a bug in our room during the whole stay. Housekeeping was great and careful about linen cleanliness. If you have kids who stain things, wear makeup, or expect to clean up messes, you may want to bring your own towels for that. The hotel isn’t in the fanciest part of town, but security was taken seriously. I came back from work at 1, 2, 3, and 4 a.m. and never felt unsafe. You need a key card to get in, and random people weren’t allowed to wander the property. The parking lot felt secure too, even with activity outside at all hours. People were kept out of the lot and escorted off the property when needed. The employees were kind, caring, friendly, and accommodating. Nico and the team helped make a stressful time much easier for my family. Thank you for making a hard chapter feel a little more like home. Let’s goooo!! 🥰🥰

The staff were really friendly and the place seems professionally run, but I had a few big issues. The location felt sketchy, and my base-model Gen 5 RAV4 was the nicest car in the lot, which didn’t exactly make me feel secure. It’s also under the airport’s landing path, and with so little soundproofing I couldn’t sleep through the planes. The building needs a full remodel. It feels like ten layers of landlord special. My room door stuck a little, and the room smelled strongly of paint when I arrived, so I opened the window for a while. It was all right after that. There’s only one entrance, so getting to my room felt like a 14-mile walk. Why don’t the emergency exits have keycard scanners?

The location is good and the rooms are okay, but the customer service was deplorable. They messed up my reservation and sent me into a room where someone was already asleep in the bed. Check-in took an hour. When I asked for the manager, he called the cops. I’m not joking. I even recorded the room when I left because I do not trust this management. Stay here at your own risk.

I stayed about 10 days while waiting for my apartment to be ready. They make it seem like supplies are fully stocked, but there were no cleaning cloths or sponges. You can’t let their washcloths or towels get dirty without risking excessive charges, so you have to buy your own cleaning supplies. I also found a cockroach just wandering around. They tried to take money from my deposit for stained sheets, including what they called a pee stain, even though I never slept in the bed and it was still tucked around the edges. I’m a Diamond Choice member and don’t usually have problems like this. I’ll definitely tell Choice this hotel isn’t up to par. One day I accidentally reserved two twin beds instead of two doubles, a $6 difference. I apologized and offered to move rooms, since I’d be back in the double room the next day and thought it might save housekeeping work. The woman said that as a Diamond member they could upgrade me at no charge. But at checkout they still deducted the $6 from my deposit, despite my offering several times to move. Shady, dirty business. Stay elsewhere.

We had a great stay for the price. The rooms were spacious, clean, and quiet, with good AC in the middle of summer. Our family and the kids had a lot of fun at the clean pool. Staff were super friendly, kind, accommodating, and there was security on the property. The kitchenette with a stove and fridge was handy, especially for a longer stay. My cousin’s family of seven had a huge room with a full kitchen, a separate master bedroom, and two couches in the living room, including a pullout. It felt like a big apartment. It was easy to get around without Strip traffic. Depending on the time of day, the drive between Caesars Palace and Bellagio took 8-15 minutes, instead of around 40 minutes driving on half the Strip. We also took another route with no traffic to Fontainebleau to play for a bit. There were plenty of nearby stores and restaurants, including a big shopping mall where we found a restaurant with great food and karaoke. Free parking at the property was a big plus compared with the average $45 a night on the Strip.
