Super 8 Las Vegas Strip Area

It looks really nice inside now, but it doesn't have the personality the old Ellis Island had. I miss when it felt more homey and local, with dealers who lip-synced and had character. I know things change, but I feel the service quality has slipped. This is the casino, and it's lost some of its personality.

If you need an important package during your stay, I'd pick another hotel. I arranged the delivery with staff in advance, and they confirmed they knew about it and said it wouldn't be a problem. Amazon later confirmed it had been delivered, but when I asked the front desk, nobody seemed to know anything about it. I followed up several times and spoke to multiple managers, but got very little help. Eventually I was told the package had supposedly been “rejected” because the name wasn't clear. Amazon says it was successfully delivered to the hotel, so it disappeared somewhere between delivery and the front desk. Management took no responsibility and made no meaningful effort to investigate. The whole thing was frustrating, and the staff's lack of support made it worse.

The hotel's basic, but perfectly fine. I've stayed here and really enjoy the rooftop bar, while The Front Yard is my favorite for food. Recent improvements have made the place even better. Gambling can go either way, like at any casino. Future comps are often better here than at most other casinos around the Valley.

The casino is fun, and the steak and eggs are great for the price, but the hotel service was awful. The front desk acted like they didn't care, and the rooms are dated with plenty of issues. I wouldn't stay here if you're looking for a fun Vegas experience. The room was comparable to a Motel 6. The TV didn't work, the toilet seat was broken, and the chair was broken too. Maintenance took over an hour to fix the TV, and the toilet seat was never repaired or replaced. They still charge a daily resort fee. When I asked at checkout to have it adjusted because of the problems, I was told only the manager could do that. That was Monday morning, but the manager wasn't available until Wednesday night. I called Joseph Cruz many times and left a message, but never got a call back.
