A quiet spot in a quieter part of town was just what I wanted. There was a fire pit outside, and I liked being able to sit outdoors at night without the bustle of a big town. We were visiting Terre Haute for Homecoming, and this was the closest place with a reasonable rate. It's a simple but nice place to rest. Our room had two queen beds and, as shown in the picture, two pull-out beds. It also had a full-size mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. Both the room and bathroom were clean, and we didn't hear other rooms, even though ours was between two of them. The staff were friendly and explained where to park if there wasn't a spot right outside our room. Parking was no problem. We didn't try breakfast, so I can't say what was offered. I think we'd choose this Inn again when dropping off or picking up for college.

The walls are a little thin, as you'd expect in an older motel. We could hear our one neighbor's conversation and TV, but thankfully they didn't stay up late or get up early. Our room was the last one in the block, so we only had that one neighbor. We were pleasantly surprised by this place after two nights there. It was just $62 a night, had good reviews, and our room was very clean, which is our number one priority, as well as nicely decorated. There was plenty of space for suitcases and three big drawers. The bathroom had room to spread out toiletries, a shelf in the shower, and a hook for drying towels. There's a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a big TV channel selection including HBO and Cinemax. These little touches made the stay nicer, especially since so many hotels leave them out. The staff were lovely and even lent us a wine opener for the day. A very positive experience.

The owners are always friendly and work hard to keep the place looking good. During our extended stay, even at full capacity, we had a good time here. The rooms are very clean, and after a hard day's work, the beds and a long, hot shower were just right. The fire pit was a relaxing place to sit under the open sky at night. We chose the Highway Inn after our landlord lost our home to auction and the new owner nearly doubled the rent, forcing us into eviction. For the price, it's a great place to stay, whether for a night or a month, if you're on a budget and can find a vacancy. There may be no pool or outdoor dining, and no extras, but it's a good place to end the day and unwind.

The room had a funky smell, not unbearable, but not pleasant. It looks like someone who called themselves a "handy man" updated things, and the bathroom was the worst of it. Baseboards are missing, and the caulking and tile around the shower are awful. Really, all the bathroom tile work is pretty bad. It needs a much better update by people who know what they're doing.

It's an older motel, but clean, with a comfortable room for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful.
