There were German Cockroaches in Room 210. On the morning I left, one was crawling on the wall and another on the bed. I reported it at the front desk and got barely a response. Disgusting, just nasty. The room itself was despicable. The paint looked sloppily slapped on, the bathtub had cigarette burns along its edge, and there was a huge hole at the bottom of the bathroom door, as if someone had kicked their boot through it. Housekeeping was minimal. My towel had hair on it. There was no hair dryer, coffee maker, iron or ironing board. The drapes need a good wash, and with them closed, the lighting was insufficient: one bright light over the sink and two dim wall fixtures with old, broken, cracked shades. It was a dark room. There were two beds, one chair, a microwave and a small refrigerator.

We stayed because there was nothing else available, but if you have another option, take it. The place was terrible. The room smelled musty, and so did the blankets and pillows. My granddaughter tried to shower, but it wasn't working properly and I couldn't turn the water on. There were bugs in the towels, too. People seemed to live there and were drinking outside in the parking lot.

At 6:00 a.m. I went out to the car and saw a sketchy guy walking around and looking at me strangely. He came up to my window and asked, "do you need anything"? I asked what he meant, and he said, "He said you know you need anything to wake up?" I think it's fair to assume he meant drugs. Then three officers swarmed the place, and I packed up and got the heck out of there. Earlier, a very violent dog came out of the office and would've attacked me if it hadn't been on a leash. The manager was standing right there and didn't even apologize. Lesson learned. I'd spend a little more and shop around for somewhere nicer, more secure and better managed. Pathetic.

The smell was disgusting, old and moldy, and for what we paid, the place was unreasonable and downright pathetic. It is a motel, so I know some things are expected, but they could've done more. There were roaches, including two little ones on top of the bed covers when we went to sleep and a dead one in the bathroom. We found several more on the room floors. It looked like the rooms hadn't been cleaned in a while, with dead bugs on the floor and bed, plus a used roll of toilet paper left out. Please don't stay here, it's truly disgusting!!!!!

The only thing missing was breakfast. The hotel doesn't provide it, though they do have fresh coffee in the morning. Right behind the hotel in the same parking lot is a small fast-food restaurant with good food, and there's also an Italian restaurant right next to it. My boss and I were in Paris on business to introduce our new brand of vodka and beer, which we produce in Miami. We stopped in one evening and asked about staying for 10 days. The woman at the front desk showed us two rooms so we could pick, and we chose room 220 on the first floor. It's an older hotel, but the prices are great, the mattresses are good, and the older furniture was clean and tidy. The bathroom was older too, but clean. When I asked for extra pillows and a blanket, the front desk woman brought them in five minutes. The reception office closes before midnight, but when I called at night for clean towels, she got up and brought them, even at 2 a.m. Hotel manager David? was a nice, helpful, friendly guy. It seemed like a small family hotel, and all the staff we met were wonderful and friendly. Staying a while made it feel like home, like my grandmother's house. If we travel from Miami to West North Tennessee again, we'll definitely stay here.
