Dolce by Wyndham Parsippany Hotel

At the bar with my family and groomsmen, I had the beer snatched from my hand by the “bartender,” Dan, who said I was cut off. The room block was another problem: our contract included a suite and shuttle with the stay, but staff claimed only two rooms had been booked through our link, even though it was clearly at least 15-20. This was easily my worst hotel experience. I wish I could rate the Sheraton Parsipanny negative ten stars. You’d be better off sleeping on the curb outside.

The lobby and downstairs areas looked updated and presentable, which gave me some hope on arrival. Upstairs, the rooms felt like a different, run-down hotel. Carpets, furniture, and even walls looked neglected, and the place badly needs deep cleaning and major updates. As a Bonvoy member, I’m disappointed and honestly disgusted. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at under the Marriott brand, and I expected better as a loyal member. I spent over $500 for a two-day stay and was charged $75 for early check-in. I won’t return, and I strongly recommend avoiding the property until serious improvements are made.

The weight room was the standout: clean, well maintained, and packed with machines. Depending on why you’re traveling, it could almost be reason enough to stay, and it rivals some gyms. The hotel itself is fairly ordinary but will suffice. The restaurant, oddly placed almost in the front desk foyer, was just okay and wildly overpriced. A Caesar salad with four shrimp cost $28 and was only okay.

I’ve been here four times over the past 11 years, and every visit has been very nice. It’s worth the price and the 3 1/2-hour drive. They have vending machines for toiletries, snacks, and drinks. I recommend a room on the third or fourth floor for a superb view.
