Pasadena Rose & Crown Hotel

We stayed one night on the way to Palm Springs and had a very comfortable, clean room with lots of storage and a wonderful hot shower. The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast in the morning was very good. It’s a lovely hotel in a convenient location. Early check-in at 3:00 and checkout at 11:00 were nice, too. I’d definitely recommend it.

There was free parking and the WiFi speed was acceptable. The room was clean overall, about 8/10 for cleanliness, and I liked the light around the bathroom mirror. Breakfast was pretty decent, and they even had a waffle maker. Check-in and checkout both went smoothly. The AC was really noisy, and there was only one outlet between the beds in our room with two queen beds. The sheets and pillows could have been cleaner. I spotted two strands of hair and wondered if they’d been washed. I think the fridge wasn’t working, because the fruit we put inside still felt warm.

The staff were all lovely and helpful, from housekeeping and the breakfast ladies to the front desk. The complimentary breakfast had eggs, sausage links, cereal, bagels, toast, yogurt, and coffee. The women working there kept everything clean and stocked. Parking was a little limited, but we found a spot when we checked in at 8pm on Thursday. It’s a small, very nice and clean hotel. I assume it dates from the 1950s or 60s, though it’s been completely modernized. The pool area is tiny. Our room was very comfortable, with vinyl flooring instead of dirty carpet, a mini-fridge, comfortable beds, and a large TV. We had a very nice stay.

The location and breakfast were great, and the front desk staff were helpful. One thing to know: the King Room I stayed in had windows facing the corridor. Road traffic could also be heard from the room at night.
