It may look like an ordinary old motel from the street, but the rooms are well kept and the bathrooms are spotless, with modern fixtures. Hot water comes quickly when you need it. You can park just five feet from your door, and downtown Paso Robles town square is only a few minutes’ drive away.

The rooms are small, though the place itself is nice. It’s not far from downtown, where there are lots of little eateries, and it’s a quiet little town. Kohl's, Walmart, and CVS are a little way up the road.

I booked through hotels.com for my company, and the credit card authorization turned into a frustrating mess. I called multiple times to arrange it for our technicians, but couldn’t reach anyone or leave a voicemail. I emailed and got no reply. When my guys arrived that night, the front desk clerk wouldn’t let them check in because there was no card on file. I called while they were there, and he put the phone on speaker and kept repeating that no card was on file. I explained I’d tried to contact them several times without getting a response. I was already out of the office, so all I could do was send pictures to my technician, but the clerk wouldn’t accept the card images. A few minutes later I called back and asked my technician to have him reply to my email so I could send the authorization form. I wanted to confirm I had the right email before sending card details. He refused to reply and kept saying not to worry, while getting angry at me and my technicians. Then he said that if we destroyed the room, we’d never be allowed to stay there again. I was willing to provide the information; I only wanted the email confirmed. We won’t stay here again because he’s so difficult to work with. My technicians said the rooms were nice, but also mentioned unwanted female visitors outside, if you know what I mean.

I’ve stayed twice and had no problems with the front desk, and I’ll probably return a third time. The location is convenient, with a taco truck and mini market, plus a Dollar Tree across the street within easy walking distance. There’s ample parking and one EV charging spot. The rooms are presentable and have the basics: bed, sheets, towels, clean bathroom, microwave, TV, fridge, sofa-style chair, and window privacy. The walls and rooms aren’t very soundproof, though. It’s a decent place for a night, and there’s plenty more to explore around Paso Robles.
