Motel 6 Paso Robles

The room was typical of Motel 6, sparse but clean. One comforter had burn holes and should be replaced, even though the room was non-smoking. My only other complaint was the shower: it didn't work properly and had very low water pressure. The front office staff, though, were really nice and upbeat. It felt good to walk in and have the person at the counter seem genuinely happy to see us.

We chose this remodeled Motel 6 for an overnight stay because of the price. It was clean and modern, and the bed was comfortable. Our queen room had a small dining area and a nice TV, and everything worked fine. I liked that the bathroom had a regular tub instead of one of those odd corner showers in many remodeled Motel 6 rooms. My only complaint: in the lobby that morning, they had regular coffee but no decaf.

I booked a non-smoking room with a fridge and microwave for an extended stay away from home. When we arrived, they said I could get a non-smoking room without the extra amenities or the room I'd booked as a smoking room. I couldn't take a smoking room with myself and my toddler, but the room still smelled of smoke. It got onto our clothes, hair, and suitcase. The large towels weren't what I'd call standard adult size, and the two thin blankets weren't very comfortable. Housekeeping did only the bare minimum between nights. The pool was clean and available. I'm thankful they refunded the last night I booked but didn't stay.

The front desk staff are always very friendly, and this is a nice renovated Motel 6. Our room was clean and fresh when we arrived, except for a half-full Big Gulp in the fridge. The daily cleaning got worse as the stay went on: they replaced our clean covers with one that had a cigarette burn, and left the second bed uncovered. The next day, they didn't replace the towels. We also found that the microwave was missing its glass dish, and one night the water was off for over half an hour.
