Baymont by Wyndham Paw Paw

The family who run this place are a delight. It's been cleaner, friendlier, and better value than similar hotels I've tried. I've stayed several times already, and because a loved one has ongoing health issues, I expect I'll be back several more times.

The room had several thoughtful touches, like tile from the entry through the bathroom and into the living area, which made it easier to roll the “Wheeley” around and meant less carpet in busy spots. There was also a magnetic doorstop high up on the wall, handy when moving luggage. The room itself was spacious and clean. The bathroom was especially well set up, with a big, well-lit mirror, a long counter, two easy-to-reach rolls of TP, a large tub and shower, and an exhaust fan. This Baymont in little Paw Paw, MI was the highlight of our two-week trip. Unlike the other Wyndham Baymonts we stayed at, it didn't smell musty, and it was the only one with a bathroom exhaust fan. Christie checked us in late last night after our last-minute Wyndham Rewards booking, when we were exhausted. We saw her again in the morning serving a nice hot breakfast. She was friendly and accommodating both times.

The pool was warm, and the entry looked clean and nice. The counter staff were all friendly and efficient. There was nobody in the breakfast area, and I think the person checking guests in was running it too. The accessible bathroom had plenty of room to enter, but the sink was too high. The tub was low, though I still couldn't use the shower without help from family. There was one handrail.

We'd stayed here on several trips before. It was average, but it worked for us. After what happened with our latest booking, we'll look elsewhere next time. We had a reservation for 10/25/2025 through Booking.com and paid when we booked. On 10/24/2025, a family illness meant we had to cancel, so we contacted both Booking and the property. We were one day past the free-cancellation deadline, but hoped they'd consider the unexpected illness and offer some flexibility, such as accommodation or a partial refund. That didn't happen. Each party sent us to the other, and we were charged the full $162.39. We're disappointed, especially since we'll be making plenty more trips to see family in the area. We will NOT stay at this Baymont Inn again.
