Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort

We came to the area for a wedding and stayed in the Litchfield room. The staff were friendly, and the property looked clean and well maintained. I had no major issues with the service or upkeep. The price was my main concern. Once the fees and other charges were added, it felt too high for the room we got. The accommodations were perfectly acceptable, but not luxurious or exceptional enough to justify that cost. For what we paid, I expected a noticeably higher-end experience. There was nothing wrong with the stay itself, but the value wasn't there, so I'd have a hard time recommending it to anyone trying to get the most from their vacation budget.

The resort grounds were nice, and it was easy to get to the pool. But the unit wasn't the one advertised, and I wouldn't stay again. It was supposed to sleep 8 but only had beds for 6, so two people would have had to use the sectional. The back sliding door was missing its handle and couldn't be used. The staff didn't seem to care that we hadn't received the room we booked.

We were here for golf, so I can't speak to the beach or anything like that. The location is great for playing courses on the south end. Our three condos were fine, though the owner furnishes each unit, so they ranged from good to adequate. Nothing to complain about there. The floors were dirty enough to turn our socks black. The bigger problem was the breakfast schedule changing to a 7:00 AM opening. That's a huge disappointment for groups with early tee times. Several groups we talked to planned to look elsewhere, including one group of 60. One morning the breakfast area was closed at 7 AM, with no sign on the door and no notice when we arrived.

We didn't get the room shown in the listing that we based our booking decision on, and check-in was later than advertised. Aside from that, the resort was great overall. The amenities worked perfectly for a family with young children, and the beach was great and not crowded.
