Hyatt Place Atlanta / Norcross / Peachtree

The Wi-Fi barely worked, breakfast was below average, and staff weren’t very helpful when I raised concerns. The room felt unclean, with stained carpet and a poorly maintained bathroom, while the whole hotel smelled musty and looked outdated. Paying extra to park felt ridiculous given the state of the place. This wasn’t the Hyatt experience I expected, and I regret booking here. I’d choose somewhere else in the Norcross area.

Breakfast had plenty to choose from: eggs, turkey sausage, potatoes, donut holes, yogurt with three toppings, waffles you make yourself, toast, English muffins, bagels, muffins, fruit, juice, and coffee. The staff were really friendly and helpful, too. Our room was set up like a suite, with the bed in a separate area from the couch and sitting space. There was also a mini fridge and a desk for working. A very nice hotel.

I had to put the bags on the trash cans myself, and ice was only available on the third and fifth floors. The main areas felt warm without much air circulation. In my room, the mini fridge didn’t cool very well, the sink wouldn’t drain properly, and the shower pipes rattled at night. They charge $12 a night for parking in a run-down lot with no security, which is ridiculous.

The staff are great, but the hotel itself is subpar. The AC couldn’t cool the room, so I sweated all night, and there was a vehicle outside thumping bass at 1 AM. The shower only gave a trickle of hot water, with no pressure. Breakfast was awful: microwaved eggs and turkey sausage, a few days old potatoes with no seasoning, empty coffee pots, and a disgruntled host. Good luck if you pick this place. There are better options around here.
