Best Western Pearsall

The beds were the one good part, they were really comfortable. The front desk woman was nice and moved us after we found the first room filthy. The floor looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped in days, there was hair on the toilet and in the shower, and the room smelled like urine. The second room still wasn't very clean, though the beds seemed clean and the bathroom was passable. It was midnight after a full day of travel with the kids, so I let some things slide. Both rooms also had plenty of maintenance problems: a chair covered in nasty stains that should be thrown out, a broken toilet seat, a loose shower handle, and closet doors that were hard to open. We didn't even try the breakfast.

Check-in was quick and the staff were friendly, and it was nice and quiet. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked great, and the shower water got nice and hot. The price was reasonable too. Some of the furniture is dated, and the room could use an update.

The pool was full of garbage and stray kittens, which was a letdown after a six-hour drive with excited kids hoping to swim. The room wasn't any better: stained, filthy carpet, gross curtains, and a cigarette smell throughout. There was even a chair with what looked like blood and other questionable stains on it. It felt like stepping back into the early 2000s. We paid extra to be near my mother's house in Pearsall and have a pool, but the place was a complete disappointment. If the rooms are going to be this bad, at least the pool should be usable. The place across the street has a pool. I wouldn't stay here.

I work nights at the hospital here, and the blackout curtains let me sleep during the day. It's quiet, affordable, and the rooms are standard but consistently clean and comfortable. The manager has been really kind about working with my schedule. I tried a few places around town, and now I stay here every week.
