The host said someone would come by, but nobody did. VRBO eventually had to step in, and we had to move to another home. We had elderly people and young children with us, and the stay was a nightmare. The listing presented a gorgeous luxury home, but the actual property was neglected and nothing like the photos, which looked AI generated by comparison. The home may have potential, but it wasn't luxurious. The broken kitchen appliances were a major problem: the fridge didn't work, the oven was in pieces, and the dishwasher sounded as if it might explode. The hot tub wouldn't heat, and both it and the pool were dirty. Rusting jewelry at the bottom of the pool made me worry the water hadn't been tested or cleaned, so I didn't want our children swimming. There was broken glass around the kitchen fridge, and we never got the WiFi details, so only certain TVs worked. Upstairs, the AC couldn't keep up. The cinema room's barn doors hung crooked and wouldn't stay shut. The steps upstairs felt unsafe and dirty, with gaps at both ends. The side of the house was blackened; at first I wondered if there'd been a fire, though we guessed the grill might have been there. The backyard also lacked the string lights, pergola, fire pit shade, deck, umbrellas, and gazebo shown in the listing. And it wasn't on a canal, but on a stormwater pond in an older neighborhood. I hope others don't get scammed into booking this place on VRBO like we did. Save yourself the nightmare.
