The staff, including housekeeping, were mostly very kind and helpful, but I wouldn’t stay here again. Our bill was $4.87 higher than the figures shown, and the desk clerk said it must have been due to the pricing, with one night around $126 and the next close to $132. I don’t care about the difference itself, but the numbers should have added up. There were fewer than 20 cars in the lot at 6:00 A.M., even though staff had made a big deal of availability. We also didn’t know there was a train yard behind the building. A whistle kept blowing around 2AM the first night, then we could hear rail cars being moved and coupled. The room was cramped, with only an office chair for seating. The toilet barely flushed, the shower pressure was so strong it stung, and the toilet paper was extremely thin and cheap. I asked at check-in about local tours, and the clerk offered to look into dolphin watching but forgot. My wife and I first visited Pensacola on Mar. 4, and 5, 2026. We’d spent days looking online, then decided to take a chance when our GPS brought us right past the Wyndham Inn. We stopped to ask about rooms and prices. I’m sure this old hotel, maybe from 1941, makes a bundle during spring break and similar periods, but I’d tell people to stay away.
We picked this place because it was near the venue we were going to, which made getting there easy. The room was comfortable, clean, and everything worked. It could use an air freshener. Nothing fancy or especially luxurious, but it did the job for a simple stay.
I had a king room that looked and smelled clean, and being able to park right outside was handy. The front desk person was attentive, easy to talk with about my concerns, and answered my questions. There’s a gym made from a converted hotel room, with an elliptical, treadmill, weights, and a bench. Palafox Market was about a 10-15 walk away. I’d come back when I’m in Pensacola again.
Dominic deserves a shout-out for five star customer service. This is an older place and could use upgrades and some maintenance, but at this price it’s a great value. It’s near the airport, close to just about everything, and surrounded by food trucks, small businesses, and local places to eat. For my 3-day business trip it worked perfectly, and it even had a functioning ice machine, which is one of my personal hotel benchmarks. The room was well equipped and very clean for a budget stay. You can tell it’s seen decades of spring break and winter rentals with several college students crammed in, but the room itself was great. Loved the Sunshine button on the mirror! I’d recommend it to family, friends, and colleagues.
Breakfast is a nice extra, and it’s usually quiet and peaceful here. I’ve stayed several times, and for the last 2 yrs this has been my pick. Check-in service was fabulous again. I only stayed 2 days this time, so I didn’t need housekeeping, but they’ve always done a wonderful job on longer visits. The room is nice for the price, though the hotel is older and historic. I enjoy staying here and plan to keep coming back. They have smoking rooms, and if those are sold out, you can step outside to a very nice smoking area.
