Hyatt Place Pensacola Airport

The airport is very close, and there's a 24/7 shuttle. Breakfast was pretty good too. My only real complaint is the parking charge. I'm already paying for a room, so being charged for a parking spot drops this to three stars. Otherwise I'd give it four. I've stayed here twice recently. In the first room the heat wouldn't come on, and it was 60⁰. I told the front desk and maintenance came right away. They thought they'd fixed it, but it still wasn't working two hours later, so they returned and sorted it out. They also gave me a meal voucher for the inconvenience, and I was very happy with how it ended.

The location is great, and it's very quiet even though it's by the airport. Most of the ladies at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. One man greeted me, then said “Nevermind” when he thought I was delivering food because I had a paper bag. That was rude for a couple of reasons. The rooms need work. The bathrooms have no ventilation and, for some reason, a glass door. Metal fixtures are rusty, paper items have mold on them, and the A/C vents were filthy. Cleaning staff also came into the room without knocking while my boyfriend was there. He'd only just gotten dressed after a shower. Nobody told us the room cleaning hours; then they said we had to sign something to show we'd refused service. We only heard about this the day before leaving. The policy was confusing. This place could be so much better.

For a one-night stay, this might work because they do offer airport transport. Otherwise, I'd go elsewhere and expect better for the money. Parking costs $8.50 a day, which Hotels.com didn't specify directly, and the complimentary breakfast was lacking. After 10 am they don't leave coffee or hot water for tea, which I've never seen at a hotel before. The room needs serious repairs and updates. A sliding frosted glass bathroom door gave no privacy when sharing, and there was no bathroom ventilation. Rust covered metal fixtures, mold was on the ceiling and paintings, and some door hinges were broken so the doors wouldn't close. The ceiling paint job was poor, with drips on the walls. Sheets, couch, walls, and curtains were stained. A cleaning staff member walked in without knocking while I was sitting on the bed, even though a come back later sign was hanging on the door.

Convenience is a plus here, right at the airport. The customer service was great, and the breakfast hostess and the staff on shift were amazing and very nice. The room was pretty clean overall, though the glasses and mugs were dirty. Apart from that, a good stay.
