Staybridge Suites Downtown Peoria by IHG

The room was impressively clean, and having two burners, a dishwasher, and a full-size fridge was a great surprise. Breakfast was good, the staff were kind, and I felt safe there. Our room wasn’t ready at check-in, but they apologized more than once, including again at checkout. Parking came with the stay, and Peoria Civic Center was only about a five-minute walk away. I’d stay here again.

The breakfast was poor for a $225-a-night stay: the juice machine was broken, there were no bottled juices to make up for it, and the cleanliness was subpar. I’m an IHG Ambassador and was appalled by how the property looked and operated. I also had to wait at the desk to check in because IHG still doesn’t offer mobile check-in. What bothered me more was seeing what appeared to be homeless people using the hotel’s services. I was there with my two teenage daughters, and it left me feeling very uncomfortable about our safety. I’m not against helping people, but I didn’t feel my family’s security was being prioritized. I won’t stay here again.

The room was clean and kept in good shape, and I appreciated housekeeping freshening it up every other day. The man at the front desk could have been friendlier. Breakfast options were sparse.

There was black mold around the shower doors, dirt built up in the bathroom floor corners, and trash scattered outside. We were there two nights, and the hallway carpets weren’t vacuumed during our stay. I also wiped a mark off the wall beside the toilet with soap and water. Gravel across the sidewalks around the building is a serious trip hazard. Housekeeping needs to do a much better job.
