Suburban Studios Peoria

The rooms smelled strongly of marijuana all the time, and there were no stovetop hot plates, which these studio-style rooms normally have. The app showed one price, but they charged me more. After I canceled some days, it’s been a week and the refund still hasn’t come through. They also wanted to charge up to $100 for “early cancelation,” even though the app booking said there was no early cancellation fee. I hope Choice Hotels investigates this franchisee. If they don’t return the money they owe, this could be wire and credit fraud.

Drug access seemed easy, and I won’t stay here again. It was the coldest night I’ve had in a motel. The ceiling-mounted heaters couldn’t warm the room. The queen bed was actually a twin mattress on a queen-size metal frame, so there wasn’t room to get out without hitting the frame.

The room, sheets, and towels were clean, and the place was quiet enough to relax. The desk staff and the maintenance and housekeeping teams were great. This was my best hotel experience in years, and I highly recommend it.

My daughter had told someone two weeks earlier that she’d keep the room and pay for another week each Tuesday, as she and her family had been doing. But when she went down to pay, the woman told her the room had been booked for the weekend. Now my pregnant daughter, her baby, her husband, and their dog are being put out with almost no notice. Their truck has broken down, and they don’t know anyone nearby. The heat in their room doesn’t work either. I live three states away and feel awful for them. This is inhumane and bad for business, especially after they were told not to rent the room out.
