Riverhouse by Weekender (Formerly Jack Daniels Inn)

We were there for a wedding, and the location was convenient. Some of my friends in room 109 had a nice river view, but my room, 206, didn't offer much of one. On both mornings, the room shook and rumbled so much that it felt like being in a NASA space shuttle at takeoff. I was told it was the laundry machines on spin cycle, which seems like a ridiculous place for them. My other two groups of friends didn't have the same problem. The stay was fine, but for the price and experience I wouldn't return.

We had our little dog with us, and the setup worked out really well. We were working nearby, so the location was perfect. Communication by text throughout the stay was convenient, too. The people looking after the property for The Weekender folks who own it were generous, friendly, and wonderful. They all deserve raises. 😊

The Riverhouse has a great, quiet spot by the river and is probably the most affordable option within 20 miles. The room was clean, elegant, and nicely decorated. The appliances were a real problem, though. I might have put up with the toilet valve screaming, but the AC didn't work and made for a miserable night's sleep. The service was helpful, but only by phone, answered by someone on the other side of the closed door at reception, the property's only shared room. That felt kind of weird. Priceline still lists it as the "Jack Daniel's Motor Inn," and I wasn't expecting a corporate, contactless stay or for "breakfast included" to mean cereal, yogurt, and fruit. I felt it wasn't as advertised. The price may suit some people given the location, but I wouldn't recommend it.

At $400 per night, this didn't feel worth the cost. There's no staff on hand, the amenities feel like they're from the early 2000's, and the soundproofing is poor. It's right on the main road, so bring white noise if you want to sleep. I wouldn't recommend it at this price. Since it's the only place to stay, the whole thing felt pretty unfair.
