The laundry was out of service, and they hadn't mentioned that on the website or when I asked the front desk for change. The manager wasn't on duty, and staff just told me to go to a laundromat. Customer service was poor. Getting a room I could tolerate took three tries. The first was next to a noisy room, and I had to complain about the noise three times before they moved me. The second had a strong, unbearable odor. The third wasn't great either, but I settled for it. The hotel has thin walls, so if you get assigned a room beside noisy guests, you may be out of luck. I don't usually review places or pay much attention to reviews, but this stay needed mentioning. Choose carefully, there are probably better options in the RGV.

The staff were nice, but the room was far below average. Trash was still in the bin, long black hair had been left in the shower, and the refrigerator was dirty. The water never got hot, and I was miserable. I've never had a worse experience with a Hilton brand.

We held an organizational luncheon in the hotel's banquet room, which was very nice and just right for our event. The manager and every staff member I dealt with were incredibly helpful and accommodating. 10 out of 10.

The shower was the worst part. The water only got lukewarm, and the pressure was maybe 15%, barely enough to rinse soap off. I heard someone from our group complain at the desk, and the agent basically said there was nothing to do, at least there was lukewarm water. No guest should have to put up with a cold shower while traveling. The hotel was clearly under construction as soon as I walked in, but the website hadn't said so. It wasn't minor work, and I even spotted a cricket near the elevator. The rooms looked nice and recently renovated, though. I didn't see the manager during my one night there. I'm just glad I only had to stay that long.

The room and shower weren't clean, and the hot water took ten minutes to reach the shower. The TV in our room didn't work, and the safe started beeping and wouldn't stop. We chose Hampton expecting a good stay, but this wasn't it and didn't meet the usual Hampton standard.
