La Quinta Inn & Suites Pharr North Mcallen

Since the hotel is fairly new, there hasn't been much wear and tear, and our stay was generally pleasant and trouble-free. A few things brought it down: the shower on our fourth floor had such low pressure it was like washing in a lukewarm mist, noise from a nearby carwash's after-hours cleaning went on until about 11 pm and disturbed quiet time, and the advertised hot tub wasn't available. If those don't bother you, you can check in expecting a 4.5-star stay. If they do, I'd set expectations below 4.

Marlene at the first building was wonderful, and the man who handled our actual booking was just as good. After our bad experience at the Holiday Inn Express across the street from us, behind Rudy's on Nolana, Marlene also told us about hotel management dos and don'ts. Thank you, La Quinta, for rescuing the day with a much nicer room. We'll come back for our yearly visit. DG.

I had what I needed for a comfortable short visit, and when a few small room problems came up, the staff quickly moved me to another room on the same floor. The hotel was clean and handy for a late arrival, with lots of places to eat nearby. The front desk team was friendly, professional, and efficient.

The rooms have been amazing every time I've stayed here, and I've come and gone over the years. Staff are always kind, helpful, and happy to answer questions. Breakfast is a favorite too, especially the salsa, warm tortillas, and waffles. The front desk greets you with a smile and real gratitude. During checkout, they introduced me to the new GM, who was friendly and helpful. I have no complaints and definitely recommend this five-star place.
