Inn On Camac

There's no shortage of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The rooms are pretty nice, with updated bedding and bathrooms. After the bar closes, the beds are very comfortable, but it can be hard to get a peaceful night here. The rooms sit right over the bar, which gets loud, and the thin walls and windows let street sounds through as if the windows were open. Light sleepers should definitely look elsewhere.

The location is fantastic, with almost everything within walking distance, but know that the bar stays noisy until closing. As for the inn itself, check-in is at the first-floor bar since there's no dedicated desk or staff for the inn. We also ran into cleanliness issues: the top blanket had a hole that looked like a burn, and there were other dirty marks on the bedding. It was okay overall.

My room was right above the bar, which stayed open until 2 or 3 a.m., and it was also on the second floor of a very busy area on a weekend night. If you don't need sleep or rest, this is the hotel for you. The room was clean and there was free Wi-Fi, but there's no gym and no lobby. I immediately canceled my future bookings and won't be back. To check in, you walk into an all-male homosexual bar and speak with the bartender. That's fine, just not for me. I stood there uncomfortably for at least 10 minutes feeling like everyone was staring at me, and someone asked if I was a stripper.

It's close to plenty of good restaurants, and there are lots of paid parking options off-site. Still, I wouldn't stay here again. The carpet outside the room was dingy and musty, and the room itself smelled musty too. The heater wouldn't work despite a nice gentleman coming twice to fix it. He also tried to get the TV working, but it still didn't work. Having it on might have helped drown out the bar noise downstairs, which kept us from getting a solid night's sleep. The shower water was only lukewarm even at the highest setting, and a leaking handle left the pressure quite weak. There wasn't enough cleanliness or working features for me to return.
