Sosuite at French Quarters - Rittenhouse Square

I loved being so centrally located near Rittenhouse Square and all the attractions in Philadelphia’s city center. Thanks for hosting me at the Sosuite at French Quarters, I had an amazing stay and would gladly come back to this apartment when I’m in Philadelphia again.

For the same price or less, the Hyatt around the corner has much better rooms. This is a low-grade Airbnb dressed up as a hotel. The quality was poor throughout: gray LVP flooring installed badly, toilet paper like sandpaper, no washcloths, and stained towels, sheets, and pillowcases. The couch was full of food crumbs. A floor lamp was falling apart, and its broken switch meant you had to unscrew the bulb to turn it off. There were non-slow-close toilet seats, a landlord-special paint job, and the cheapest furniture they could find at a West Elm demo unit sale. And so on.

The location was amazing, the place was clean, and the necessities were provided. Instructions for getting into and out of the building and unit were clear. Taking out the trash was easy, and noise wasn’t bad. My only concern was that the door lock didn’t feel very secure at night. Overall, a 10/10 experience, and I highly recommend it.

SoSuite replied quickly to the survey and clarified that the thumping I heard came from a club downstairs, not a party on the property. I've updated my comments to reflect that. The apartment had plenty of space, a good location, and an easy check-in. Communication was great before, during, and after my visit. Most of the place looked nicely cleaned, though I did find some mildew and missing grout in the shower, plus permanent marks on the dresser and table. The club noise went on through the night. They provide earplugs and a white noise machine, which was thoughtful, but neither made up for having a nightclub below you. On Sunday at 5:30 a.m., trash trucks emptying dumpsters outside the window added to it. City life, I guess. It was fine overall, and fairly well looked after, but I doubt I'd book again because of the noise.
