The Maj Hotel

I booked at the last minute for a trip to Philly and would recommend this hotel. The online photos matched what I found: clean spaces, a modern look, and a simple layout. The staff I interacted with were positive, though there weren't many. There was no mini fridge in my room, but one seemed available on request, and I didn't need it. The snack market stays open around the clock and has a decent selection. You pay at a self checkout rather than charging things to the room, so no staff help is needed. I parked by the penitentiary, which I wanted to visit anyway, about a six minute walk from the hotel. I'd stay here again on a future visit to Old Philadelphia.

I was at The Maj Hotel from October 13 to Wednesday, October 15, 2025, and would strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Philly. The room was open and very nice, and the bed was the most comfortable I've had in a hotel in a long time. Everything was spotless, and the service was excellent. Staff helped me find good local food, and early check-in was no problem. The location made it easy to get everywhere I needed to go in the city.

We had a great time here for our first visit to Philly, celebrating our anniversary. The hotel feels inviting and intimate, and the front desk host was friendly and attentive. We liked being so close to the art museum and the other places we wanted to see. The city view was great, the bed was comfy, and their lobby convenience store had the best snacks. We'll definitely be back.

The staff went the extra mile, so we'd give them six stars out of five. Our room at The Maj was bright, cheerful, comfortable, spotless, and nicely appointed. We liked lounging there between outings around Philadelphia. We picked the hotel for its location, just a five minute walk from the Philadelphia Museum of Art and near lovely restaurants, shops, and other attractions. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this boutique hotel.
