The bar area made the stay especially comfortable, with its lively atmosphere, big TVs, and café-style spot where we could eat or work on a laptop. Gabrielle and Estefani deserve a special mention. They went out of their way to make our visit more enjoyable. We were traveling with a large group, and the staff stayed courteous and accommodating throughout. The hotel looked new, felt clean and welcoming, and was very well kept. Its convenient location made getting around easy. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely return and recommend this Hampton Inn.

Alan was amazing, checking in with us throughout the stay and making sure things were going well. Service was solid overall, though one woman working the breakfast counter had a very unpleasant attitude. The hotel itself was clean and inviting. The location is a real convenience, right in the middle of DT Phoenix and about a 10 minute walk from the restaurants and sports hub. Parking is paid. Valet isn’t required, but it’s pretty much inevitable if you want things to go smoothly. Most of the valet guys were decent and got our car back quickly. The room views weren’t much, though we could keep an eye on our car in the valet lot. I liked the comfortable bed and fluffy pillows, and the shower was nice. They had good conditioner that worked well on my hair. Breakfast was free, with eggs, waffles, sausage, fresh oatmeal, juice, and coffee. It could’ve had more flavor, but I accepted it for what it was. There’s also a small lobby nook with snacks and drinks, plus a microwave and frozen food. Handy hotel.

I had to wait a week for the corrected invoice for my expense report, even though the $300 smoking fee had been reversed. Management never apologized or acknowledged the inconvenience, and I still haven’t received an answer about how they’ll keep this from happening to loyal guests or prevent false sensor triggers. There’s been no reassurance that another guest won’t be in the same position. I’m a Hilton Gold member, and during this stay at the Hampton Inn Downtown Phoenix I was charged $300 for smoking, although I did not smoke in the room. The hotel’s report said its smoke detection technology can be set off by ordinary conditions. A hot, steamy shower interacting with dust in the air may cause sensors to misread humidity. Research shows some photoelectric and particulate detectors can falsely trigger this way, but the hotel treated the alert as conclusive proof without doing its own research. To dispute the charge, I had to fill out a formal form when a conversation and basic customer care should have been enough. The Assistant General Manager, Alan Torres, eventually contacted me, acknowledged the dispute, and agreed to remove the fee. But there was no apology, accountability, or updated invoice at that point. The corrected bill took a week to arrive. This was frustrating, unprofessional, and completely avoidable. Management’s communication and accountability are unacceptable for a Hilton property. I won’t stay here again, and I’d urge others to use caution when booking. If you don’t believe me, read their other reviews.

Really nice Hampton, the best one I’ve stayed at. It was clean, in a great spot, and the front desk staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was surprisingly good, and the arena and chase field are within walking distance. Highly recommend.

The location worked perfectly for us, really close to the airport, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room felt like a little retreat, with beautiful decor, lots of space, a big washroom, and a super comfortable bed. Breakfast had plenty to choose from and was excellent. Great stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton Phoenix Downtown.
